Barbara Pflieger Mory was born and raised in the United States where
she started drawing from early childhood. After two years at
Millersville State University in Pennsylvania, she relocated to
Winston-Salem, NC. There she pursued a career as an art instructor and
exhibiting artist. A broad range of technical knowledge, combined with
classical Fine Arts training, served as a solid foundation for a career
in private commission work.
Drawn to an acquisition of knowledge in two-dimensional media,
|
Mory embarked on a series of "oil on paper" mixed media collages, combining
oil in a watercolor technique with pencil rendering, pen and ink detail
work and torn edges. She participated in several national exhibitions
as well as individual shows. Her paintings are held in private and
corporate collections throughout the US and in Europe.
In addition to private commission work, Mory is currently designing
floor cloths, banners, and working on a series of sun-kissed paintings
based on the island colors of St. Croix.
